I used to claim I am only as good as the project I am currently working on, but lately I just like looking at slideshows of my work.
I am inspired by people and creatures
the sky and the sea
I am moved by the way the wind whispers to me
My guides have told me that it’s not all mine
As I am connected to something from the other side
When asked as a very young person what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would answer...A Starving Artist.
By my early teens my mom very sternly corrected me by telling me that an artist doesn't have to starve, there is plenty of work for everyone. It is funny that I recall that exact moment.
I had a Cake Art business in the Tampa area for 10 years that included food sculptures and sugar crafting. Sometimes I still drive/fly way far north to deliver a delicious confection. You can view some of my work at http://annascakeart.webs.com/
Yes, it is all edible.
I won the Most Original Award for a Gingerbread house in the last Gingerbread competition that I participated in. I gave Sugar Crafting Classes through my business in Tampa and recently I started offering Food Art Classes including the Art of Sushi through the the County Recreational Centers.
I have always drawn and painted and that led to several murals for family and friends. Recently, I did a series of children's bedrooms for a wonderful family that lives on the river. Look for the Photos of the mural of the Secret Reading Garden that I painted in the local elementary school Library.
I also enjoy photography.
I love faces and places.
